Element has an opportunity for a new Financial Accounting Manager to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity to develop your Finance career within a Global testing, inspection and certification TIC business.

Responsible for preparation of monthly consolidated balance sheet and cash flowReviewing Cognos submissions from subsidiariesEnsuring controls to support all of the above are developed, documented and operated, including preparation and approval of IFRS consolidation entriesResponsible for technical accounting including acquisition accounting, impairment models for goodwill and IFRS 2 share-based payment modelEnsure proper documentation (Memos) is available to support significant accounting treatmentsCo-ordinate and manage quarterly balance sheet reviewsLiaising with overseas teams to complete local statutory accounts on timeReview of statutory accounts and liaising with EY / Shared service centre to complete within group reporting timetableLead covenant reportingResponsibility for preparation of the half year and full year statutory financial statementsResponsibility for preparation of supplementary disclosure spreadsheet sent out to operating companies for completion at half and full year end and reviewing completed returnsPreparation of any other ad-hoc schedulesCo-ordinate external audit timetable - interim reviews and annual auditOther ad-hoc schedules and projects
A Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA)Experience within large Group IFRS consolidationProven track record of strong technical accounting skillsExtensive knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAPStrong planning and organisational skills to ensure group deadlines are met
A keen eye for detailExcellent interpersonal skills and be adept at interacting with individuals at all levels in the organisationDrive and motivation to ensure self and team succeeds in achieving fixed and demanding deadlinesDisplays a 'can-do' mentality which is focussed on targets and deadlinesPersists in overcoming obstaclesA self-starter; does not wait for others to solve problemsAbility to prioritise workloads and work within a fast paced, changing environment
