Tes is supporting the appointment of a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-Ordinator(SENDCo) to join a Foundation School based in Southwark.

The Foundation School is seeking to appoint a dedicated and inspiring professional with a proven track record of SEND delivery to join their outstanding Learning Support Faculty as a:

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator TLR1A ~ £9,750

The main purpose of the role is to be the lead SENDCo in the promotion, direction and overseeing of high standards of teaching and learning, pupil achievement and progression, for all pupils with additional educational needs.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of teaching students with SEND, operate as the school's lead SENCO and will have completed the NASENCO qualification or be committed to working to achieve it. S/he will possess a good working knowledge of the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice.

This is an exciting career opportunity for an exceptional candidate. The successful candidate, working in collaboration with the Faculty Director, will be able to:

Think strategically to ensure effective provision to the full cohort of pupils with additional needs.oversee the day-to-day operation of the school's Special Educational Needs policyAdopt an outcomes focused approach aimed at reducing the gap in progress and attainment for students with additional needs co-ordinate the deployment of TAs to ensure that all their young people receive the most appropriate and effective supportcomplete Annual Reviews in line with CoP guidelinesadvise & train staff on SEND strategies to support students in the classroomLead, develop and deliver their Nurture programme for the less able in Year 7All applicants need to have the Right to Work in the UK to be considered for the role.
