Public Infrastructure & Projects Senior Lawyer


A leading UK law firm require and experienced Public Infrastructure & Projects Senior Lawyer to join a nationwide UK law firm within a Corporate and Commercial department in Manchester dealing with a varied mix of work across both the public sector and private clients, predominately in sectors including health, local government, emergency services and social housing.


The department advise on projects from "cradle to "grave", operational issues, termination and expiry issues as well as the design and structure projects. They also advise on the full range of disputes that can arise out of procurements including procurement disputes, design and construction disputes, operational disputes particularly in relation to payment disputes and fire safety disputes and termination disputes. Furthermore, the department have market-leading experience of advising on terminating PFI contracts in the health and emergency services sectors.


The work will include high quality work involving complex litigation at High Court and including Alternate Dispute Resolution.


The role will involve leading complex commercial disputes. Those disputes might include PFI / Projects / infrastructure disputes, procurement law disputes, IP disputes, competition investigations, and construction disputes.


Skills


·Specialises in complex commercial disputes;
·Has excellent drafting skills;
·is confident in managing clients, external counsel and experts;
·Will take early responsibility for handling High Court litigation and all forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution;
·Will manage a team;
·Is happy to work independently and co-operatively while in a supportive team environment;
·Will be positive and flexible, is able to prioritise work to meet deadlines, and relishes attention to detail.

The successful candidate will be both highly motivated and able to foster a successful team.

The role offers the opportunity to develop leadership skills and will require candidates to demonstrate the ability to build relationships internally and externally and drive forward the development of our corporate and commercial litigation practice.

Salary to £80,000 + bonuses + hybrid working + flexible working + flexible benefits
