On behalf of Public Sector Resourcing, we are seeking a DevOps Engineer (Inside IR35) for a contract role. This position allows for hybrid working arrangements.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be an integral part of the AWS Native Security initiative, a crucial component of our Adaptive Security Programme aimed at enhancing cybersecurity measures. This initiative focuses on the deployment and optimization of AWS security tools and controls, essential for identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities and security risks associated with misconfigurations.

Your role will be centered around securing the cloud infrastructure, which is a vital aspect of our broader strategy to improve cybersecurity. This project is essential for protecting our data, applications, and services hosted on AWS from emerging cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement effective security architectures within the AWS environment, establishing and enforcing policies and security measures to safeguard our cloud systems.
  • Configure and manage security services such as GuardDuty for threat detection, AWS Inspector for vulnerability assessments, and Service Control Policies (SCPs) for policy enforcement across multiple AWS accounts.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of the AWS security posture, identifying areas for enhancement, detecting vulnerabilities, and implementing strategic improvements to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate closely with cybersecurity teams, AWS administrators, and development teams to ensure a unified and secure cloud infrastructure.
  • Establish and enhance continuous monitoring systems to detect and respond to security incidents in real-time.
  • Ensure all security implementations comply with regulatory standards and internal governance policies.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Active SC Clearance is mandatory for this position.
  • Proven experience in cloud security, particularly within AWS environments.
  • Hands-on expertise with AWS security services, including AWS GuardDuty, AWS Inspector, AWS CloudTrail, AWS Config, and Service Control Policies (SCPs).
  • Familiarity with cloud security frameworks, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform for secure and efficient deployment of AWS resources.
  • Proficient in managing access to AWS services and resources securely, utilizing AWS IAM for authentication and authorization.
  • Ability to design and implement incident response strategies within the AWS cloud, leveraging tools like AWS CloudWatch and AWS Lambda.
