On behalf of Public Sector Resourcing, we are seeking a DevOps Engineer (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract. Hybrid working (2 days per week).
As a DevOps Engineer, you will be integrated into a pivotal project focused on enhancing cybersecurity measures within the AWS environment. This initiative is part of a broader strategy aimed at strengthening the organization's security posture. The primary goal is to implement and optimize AWS security tools and controls, which are essential for identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing comprehensive security architectures within the AWS framework, ensuring robust policies and practices are established to safeguard cloud systems.
- Configuring and managing AWS services such as GuardDuty for threat detection and AWS Inspector for vulnerability assessments, ensuring extensive security coverage across multiple accounts.
- Conducting thorough evaluations of the AWS security posture, pinpointing areas for enhancement and implementing strategic improvements to mitigate risks.
- Collaborating closely with cybersecurity teams, AWS administrators, and development teams to maintain a secure cloud infrastructure.
- Establishing and refining continuous monitoring systems to promptly detect and respond to security incidents.
- Ensuring all security measures comply with regulatory standards and internal governance policies.
Essential qualifications include:
- Active SC Clearance is a mandatory requirement for this position.
- Proven experience in cloud security, particularly within AWS environments.
- Hands-on expertise with AWS security services such as AWS GuardDuty, AWS Inspector, AWS CloudTrail, AWS Config, and Service Control Policies (SCPs).
- Familiarity with cloud security frameworks, best practices, and industry standards.
- Experience utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform for secure and efficient deployment of AWS resources.
- Proficient in managing access to AWS services and resources securely, leveraging AWS IAM for authentication and authorization.
- Capability to design and implement incident response strategies within the AWS cloud, utilizing tools such as AWS CloudWatch and AWS Lambda.
