Background: Veterinary pathology at Nottingham University provides a diagnostic service on a wide range of animals, mainly companion and farm animals (part of disease surveillance activity with Animal and Plant Health Agency). The unit is involved in clinical teaching of year 5 veterinary students and servicing surgical and post-mortem case submissions caseload.

Description: Applications are invited from veterinary graduates to undertake a three-year training programme (residency) in veterinary anatomic pathology. The successful candidate will focus on companion and farm animal pathology with some exposure to avian pathology and veterinary clinical pathology. The trainee will be registered for a MVM degree at the school of veterinary medicine and science and will undertake a research project on some aspect of veterinary anatomic pathology as a component of their residency training. The training programme encompasses small group teaching, seminars, research, diagnostic duties (companion and farm pathology). Successful residents will be eligible for the ECVP and/or ACVP board certification examination upon completion of the residency.

Further information and Application: Graduates with at least one year's clinical experience, preferably with some exposure to veterinary anatomic pathology, are invited to apply for this residency position. Applicants must have attended an EAEVE approved Veterinary School and be a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons or hold a veterinary degree qualifying them for membership. There is an annual tax-free stipend of £27,820 for three years subject to satisfactory annual assessment. Degree enrolment fees are paid for UK applicants. The University is keen to ensure all of its students are prepared to succeed in their programmes of study.
