City of Doncaster Council's Public Health team are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for Public Health to be part of their Healthy Places team. The link between health and the built and natural environment has a strong evidence base and this post will be at the forefront of developing sustainable and innovative approaches to provide the right conditions for residents to lead healthy and fulfilling lives. This post-holder will work across a range of council departments, communities and external partners to identify and develop opportunities that will reduce health inequalities in Doncaster by creating places where people can thrive.

The post-holder will be responsible for leading on and contributing to, elements of a varied portfolio and will be comfortable working in an agile, responsive and flexible environment.

The post holder will primarily be responsible for:

Supporting a whole systems approach to influence place-making across Doncaster, promoting the importance of the built and natural environment on improving health and wellbeing.

Driving forward a partnership approach encouraging a shift towards a more sustainable City.

Contributing public health input at policy level

Working with regional and national colleagues to share best practice and contribute to improvements in relation to the built and natural environment.

We are looking for candidates with a sound knowledge of the wider determinants of health and should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
