About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Specialist Community Public Health Nurse - School Health Expert to join our dedicated safeguarding team at Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will work across all schools, colleges, and alternative education settings within Doncaster, managing a universal caseload of children and young people, as well as a focused caseload of vulnerable and complex children and families.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide a holistic service for children, young people, and families who live in Doncaster and attend a Doncaster school, other alternative education setting, or who are educated at home.
  • Lead on the assessment of health needs and support in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualised packages of care.
  • Lead and facilitate each school to have an individual School Health Profile to identify the health needs of the school population and geographical area.
  • Provide training and support for children, young people, parents/carers, and school staff to meet individual health needs.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to provide an innovative approach to delivering an enhanced public health service to the children and young people who attend schools and other educational settings as well as those educated at home.

  • A Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nurse) with an active registration.
  • Evidence of continued personal/professional development and a willingness to undertake training.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience of delivering clinical and safeguarding supervision.
