We are looking for a Student Wellbeing Advisor to join us.

Under the direction of the Designated Safeguarding Lead, the Student Wellbeing Advisor will provide an efficient and effective medical support service to the students and staff of the Academy and will participate in health promotion and health education.

In your capacity within the role, you will maintain health advice and medical/emergency support to the students and staff. You will deal with sickness or injury of students or staff as required, including first aid where appropriate, and advise on a suitable course of action. You will also liaise closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead to promote health issues in the Academy.

The successful candidate will hold an NVQ 2 in a relevant discipline or appropriate equivalent qualification and a First Aid qualification. Experience of working in the healthcare sector would be advantageous.

In this role, you will work 37 hours per week, 39.2 weeks Term Time ONLY including INSET.

About Us

Following on from 10 years as a specialist Technology College, de Ferrers became an Academy in January 2011. It has grown into a large, split-site, co-educational institution catering for the full range of students from ages 11 to 18. In 2015, de Ferrers became the first school of The de Ferrers Trust (a Multi Academy Trust).

Excellent funding has allowed the Academy to enhance resources and equipment and widely promote the use of new technologies. There are digital projectors and flat-screen TVs in all curriculum areas, with over 500 computers and laptops across all sites.

From October 2012, the Academy became the first school in Staffordshire to provide all sixth form students with access to a personal one-to-one iPad for use in lessons and at home. Currently, all students in Years 9 to 13 (Trent and Sixth Form Campuses) have their own iPad, as well as all teaching staff and most support staff.
