The Role

The Programme Support Librarian will work within the Online Library team in Senate House Library, to support the delivery of high quality library services for the University of London's global community of distance learning students.

The post-holder will be responsible for managing various operational processes in the Online Library team, including promoting discovery and access, monitoring resource usage and providing management data as required.

The post-holder will also take responsibility for a small portfolio of academic programmes, ensuring Library content is aligned with curriculum requirements and supporting and engaging students and faculty.

We are looking for a professionally qualified librarian with experience of working in an academic or similar library environment. You should have a strong commitment to supporting students' information needs, along with excellent organisational, interpersonal, team-working and customer services skills. Some knowledge of discovery platform administration, web content management, e-learning software and e-book purchasing models would be advantageous.

The University currently operates a Hybrid Working framework involving a mix of working remotely and in the office. Typically, the majority of employees will be able to agree to work remotely for up to 60% of their working week, role dependent, however will be required to attend on specific days for training or team meetings.
