In this role, you will be involved in supporting the delivery of our degree apprenticeship provision for the North West Region working on the Occupational Therapy course & inter-professional portfolio.

As a Lecturer, you will be able to inspire our students and make a valuable contribution to their learning experience, whilst preparing them for contemporary occupational therapy practice.

Alongside this, you'll have the opportunity to develop your career, further your own academic profile & enhance your teaching through studying for a Postgraduate Certificate – Teaching in Higher Education.

You must be an HCPC-registered occupational therapist and have well-developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical, and theoretical issues relevant to contemporary practice.

Ideally, you'll be at the forefront of new ways of working in the NHS, in either primary or secondary settings, demonstrating care innovation & emergent management pathways.

We have a team of lecturers to deliver our apprenticeship provision and it would be envisaged that you would be part of this innovation, contributing to occupational therapy education in higher education whilst retaining strong links with practice partners.

The Degree Apprenticeship programme is delivered in weekly blocks interspersed throughout the year encompassing hybrid delivery made up of 2 days on-site and 3 days online.

Our main base is at Sheffield Hallam University where hybrid working is our normal practice (online or on-campus) and with occasional travel to the North West (approximately 2 days per month).

The role also requires you to contribute to our pre-registration apprenticeship course through teaching, assessing, academic advising and academic citizenship.

The ability to inspire, enthuse & connect with a range of backgrounds is required. You will support students' academic and placement learning progression and work collaboratively to enhance the student experience.

The Department of Allied Health Professions & Life Sciences is one of the UK's leading teaching centres of pre-registration health education and one of the first universities to offer Allied Health Professions Degree Apprenticeship Courses.

We are growing our occupational therapy team due to continued expansion of our teaching portfolio.

Our teaching team has a range of expertise in all areas of occupational therapy & is responsible for a distinctive & high-quality education portfolio which includes the BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy, BSc Occupational Therapy Degree Apprenticeship, MSc Occupational Therapy (pre-registration) and MSc Advanced Practice in Sensory Integration. In addition, the team contributes to cross-department and cross-College teaching including inter-professional education provision and CPD provision.

£38,205 to £42,978 per annum (pro rata), dependent on experience
