We are seeking a Deputy Chief of Staff to join the Development and Alumni Relations Executive team on 12 months maternity cover.

The role holder will have responsibility for working closely with the Director, Campaign and Vice-Chancellor's Alumni and Development Engagement and the Chief of Staff to:

  • Help manage all Vice-Chancellor engagement on behalf of the Development & Alumni - Relations, including scheduling meetings, preparing briefings and tracking and managing VC correspondence.
  • Provide all aspects of administrative support to the Director.
  • Prioritise demands.
  • Ensure that urgent/ risky issues are dealt with and are followed up when delegated by the Executive team.
  • Help support the Director in their role as Director of the Cambridge India Research Foundation.

As part of a team of senior administrators and executive assistants within Development and Alumni Relations, the post holder will provide direction and advice to other PAs and assistants across the office acting as a sounding board and conduit for problem-solving with senior management.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organisational skills and a proven track record of providing executive assistance. They should display confidence and proactiveness, and be able to work independently, making informed decisions on behalf of senior staff. Outstanding interpersonal and diplomatic skills are essential as they will interact with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally. Strong teamwork skills, a collaborative nature and a willingness to support colleagues are also fundamental requirements for this role.
