About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Supply Chain team at our Kerry Gainsborough site as a Supply Chain Apprentice.

The role offers the individual an opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of the Supply Chain function, whilst developing the skills essential to collaborate effectively with key stakeholders within a fast-paced working environment. The role itself will involve a combination of 'off the job' training and practical learning within a Supply Chain position on site.

What will I be doing?

Through 'off the job' training and the opportunity to develop and learn within a working environment on a manufacturing site, the individual will develop skills and responsibilities covering:

Transport Planning – Collaboratively working with our hauliers and customers to deliver products to our customers on time in full.

Material Planning – Liaising with suppliers, procurement, and the on-site team ensuring that stock levels are closely monitored, adhering to lead-times, and effectively managing costs and warehouse capacity.

Production Planning & Scheduling – Implementing a supply plan considering capacity, product shelf life and the key drivers from an operational perspective to create an efficient, cost-effective production plan.

Inventory & Stock Management – Principles of stock control and optimisation to support working capital reductions and help minimise stock write offs.

SAP ERP System & Microsoft Office Knowledge – Develop an understanding of the SAP ERP system, to effectively carry out tasks as required and support the monitoring of KPI's to deliver business objectives through Microsoft Office applications.

What do I need to be successful in this role?

Proven results in school & college. A – Levels / GSCE Maths & English

Experience in a warehouse environment

Ability to use Microsoft 365, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Energetic, enthusiastic, and proactive yet focused, attention to detail and task orientated.

Open to learning, courageous to overcome challenges.

Proven track record in team collaboration and can demonstrate examples of being a team player.

Effective communication skills.
