National Locums are working on behalf on of an NHS trust based in the East Anglia region looking for a locum Consultant in Microbiology.

The Pathology department based within a trust in East Anglia are looking for a Locum Consultant in Microbiology to start in April for 6 weeks initially.

Core working hours will be Monday – Friday, 09:00-17:00.

There will be on-calls on a 1:6 rota for clinical advise, infection prevention and control, antimicrobial emergency and outbreak management.

The role mainly involves answering calls from the hospital clinicians and giving advise to treat infections as well as infection control.

You will also deal with daily blood culture cases as well as follow-up via the phone, authorising microbiology reports from specimen processed by the biomedical scientists and ITU ward round via teams to give clinical advise as well as attend handover seasons.

You must hold full the following in order to be considered:
GMC license to practise.
NHS experience in Microbiology.
Specialist Registration in Medical Microbiology and Virology and/or Infection Control is desired.
Available on site.
