London, Greater London, United Kingdom CAFCASS Full time

Thank you for your interesting in joining us as a Family Court Adviser in our team(s) covering the Greater London area.

Our strategic ambition is for every child in family law proceedings to have an exceptional experience, everywhere in the country and every time.

While we are proud that Ofsted judged us to be 'outstanding' earlier this year, there is always more to do to serve the best interests of children in public and private law proceedings across England. Our inspection outcome has energised us to keep getting better at what we do for children and families and the feedback from them tells us we are doing just that.

Colleagues gave inspectors wonderful feedback to Ofsted covering what it is like to work here, professional development and learning, workload, flexible working / wellbeing and work/life balance, and management support / supervision and oversight. You can read some of the amazing quotes by clicking on the apply link.

We are also hosting a 'Live Event' on Tuesday 10th September at 5pm where you can hear from some of our practice colleagues sharing their experience of working here. Even if you can't join us live, please register and we can share a recording with you. To register for the event, please click on the apply link and follow the instructions.

Wherever you work in the country and whatever team part of – you could work in Public Law or Private Law, or a team that covers both - as a Family Court Adviser you could be involved in a combination of cases where either the families require the assistance to agree on the best arrangements for the welfare and safety of the child(ren) involved or the local authority has serious concerns and requests the involvement of Cafcass in the case.

Family Court Advisers are typically involved in undertaking direct work with children, gaining their views and wishes and representing these to the court via written reports and giving evidence and advocating for arrangements that are in the best interests of the child(ren) involved.

Being a Family Court Adviser is very rewarding – but it's not for everyone. You must be a Social Work England registered social worker who's organised, resilient and able to work independently. Confident in your abilities, you'll have demonstrable experience of working with children and families over a sustained period as a Social Worker, potentially supplemented from relevant experience from earlier in your career also.

We are a diverse, inclusive organisation that is a safe space for colleagues with shared aspects of identity and lived experience, which helps ensure we provide a service which promotes the diversity and uniqueness of children and families from all backgrounds. We especially welcome interest from people from diverse backgrounds as we strive to ensure our workforce reflects the diversity of the children and families we work with.

We provide extensive wellbeing support for colleagues, as well as excellent benefits, all of which we hope encourages you to consider a career with us.

We hope you'll register for our Live Event and we'll have the chance to tell you more about what you can expect should you join us at some stage in the future.
