Contract: Permanent, with a three-month probationary period.

Location: London-based office (SE1), with some working from home possible.

Hours: 35 hours per week, full time. We welcome conversations about working flexibly. Due to the nature of this role regular evening and weekend work will be required, and some travel will be required. Relocation to Edinburgh for the month of August may be required depending on Plosive's Edinburgh Fringe presence each year.

Plosive is looking for a marketing officer to support the company in the promotion of their live comedy shows and audio podcasts.

Plosive is an award-winning production company, creating live comedy shows and audio content. We produce live comedy across the country, including large-scale gigs in London, and the Wells Comedy Festival in Somerset. We promote solo shows and tours with artists including Tim Key, Nish Kumar, Amy Gledhill, Paul Foot, James Acaster, Jessica Fostekew and Nick Helm. We promote live shows of hit podcasts including Off Menu and Films to be Buried With. We also produce comedy podcasts including Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster, Sara & Cariad's Weirdos Book Club, Lucy & Sam's Perfect Brains, Cuddle Club with Lou Sanders, Nobody Panic, Northern News, Microscope, and The Rob Auton Daily Podcast.

The Marketing Officer will facilitate effective marketing campaigns across a variety of projects, including touring shows, festivals and line-up shows, as well as Plosive's audio podcasts and in-house recording studio. This role will largely focus on Plosive's live productions – including touring acts and line-up shows – and work closely with the Live Promoter, but will also work with the Podcast Producer to help promote Plosive's slate of podcasts. This new position is a fantastic opportunity to play an integral role in expanding Plosive's public reach, audience, listenership, and brand.

Responsibilities

Duties will include, but not be limited to:

Coordinate and deliver marketing campaigns for Plosive's live productions and touring showsDeliver campaigns to agreed budgets, to maximise ticket sales, and reach targetsRoll out marketing activity based on Plosive's pre-devised annual marketing planLiaise directly with venues and third party ticket agents to co-ordinate marketing activityManage print deliveries and distributionMonitor ticket sales and, working with the Live Promoter, deliver reactive campaigns accordinglyCoordinate and manage paid digital marketing campaignsLiaise with external PR companies to manage press campaigns for live shows and podcastsWrite press releases and update listingsUpdate social media accounts and websitesCreate and subtitle promotional videos for social mediaOversee and schedule the company's social media content plan, working alongside the Live Promoter, Podcast Producer and Office & Admin Assistant to create engaging contentWrite and deliver targeted e-newslettersMaintain and manage email databases in line with current data protection rules and regulationsWorking with the Podcast Producer, coordinate and deliver marketing campaigns for Plosive's podcasts and audio contentMonitor podcast listener figures and track downloads against marketing activityEnsure all marketing communications are accurate, and maintain the Plosive tone of voiceAssist at Plosive shows, particularly press nightsRepresent Plosive at comedy and arts events and festivals in the UK and potentially abroad, developing relationships within the industry and acting as an ambassador for Plosive's workKeep up-to-date with the latest developments in contemporary live comedy and podcastsGeneral support and other duties as required by the role Knowledge, skills and experience

Essential

At least 2 years' experience in a live arts marketing positionExperience in coordinating marketing campaignsExperience of running social media advertisingKnowledge of different social media platforms and skills in updating theseExcellent organisational skills and attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent problem-solving skillsExcellent time management and the ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlinesIT skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google DocsThe willingness and dedication to learn new skills as required Desirable Experience of using Adobe Creative Cloud SuiteExperience of working on live touring showsKnowledge of and interest in the UK comedy industryExperience of working at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe or in other festival environments Additional information

Reporting to: Company Director / Head of Producing

Notice period: 1 month

Holiday entitlement: 20 days per year, plus additional or substitute Public or Bank Holidays as are decided by the Company
