Our Lady's RC Primary School, Perth
The successful candidate will support children who have additional support needs on a 1-1 basis and within small group settings to access learning under the direction of the class teacher and senior managers. This will also include supporting positive behaviour management programmes and contributing to personal learning plans.
We are looking for a nurturing person with good communication skills who can adapt and work well in a team and be flexible to meet the changing needs of children.
The successful candidate should have an awareness of interventions and will support children to access the curriculum. Other support may involve active learning, assisting children with intimate care routines when required, and supervising in the playground and during lunchtime.
A genuine interest in the development of children and their wellbeing is essential and the important qualities are empathy, patience and an ability to engage with children and young people.
Sensitivity is also required when dealing with any care routines and to respect confidentiality at all times.
