Gain hands-on experience in analysing viewer feedback and crafting insightful reports as a Channel 4 apprentice.

If you are looking for an opportunity to gain work experience and a qualification, then an apprenticeship at Channel 4 might be for you.

Our Apprenticeships are full-time, with four days per week spent working in a C4 department and one day per week completing the formal learning parts of the apprenticeship. You'll spend 60% of your working week in your office base and 40% working from home. The formal training provided will consist of workshops, tutorials, webinars, coaching and in some cases residential boot camps.

The Audience Research & Insight team (AR&I) is focused on leading Channel 4's audience research to provide forward thinking, actionable insight that supports all creative teams in Channel 4, including our Commissioning, Streaming and Marketing departments. AR&I is part of the Consumer Insight department, representing the voice of the audience within the business.

During your time in the Audience Research & Insight team you'll get involved in all areas of the work we do, from primary research to understand whether people are enjoying our TV shows and what we could do to make them even better, to using our tools to see how many people watched Bake Off this week There'll also be specific projects for you to work on and we'll help you to quickly build up your skills and knowledge of the TV content industry.

Responsibilities

Produce a range of both regular and ad-hoc genre (e.g. Drama or Entertainment) and programme reports (e.g. Gogglebox) to inform extensive parts of the business on the performance of our TV shows and what viewers think of themAnalyse TV data from various sources to answer business questions and provide the most holistic view of trends and performanceProvide support in quantitative research projects: designing the questionnaires, analysing the results and presenting the findings Support in qualitative projects that bring an audience perspective to business priorities Be proactive in developing relationships across the business, specifically the commissioning, marketing and press teamsSupporting with queries from the Channel 4 Press and Publicity team, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of performance successesSupport the team with larger insight projects throughout the yearTake part in 'insight week' where we share our research knowledge with the rest of Channel 4 Knowledge, skills and experience

An understanding of and a passion for Channel 4's remit Confirm you have Maths & English GCSE Grade C (4) or aboveAn interest in TV content and the changing content market in the UKGenuine curiosity about what makes people tick and whyGood numeracy skills and confident working with numbers Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and part of a team Eligibility criteriaYou must be 18 years old or over at the time the scheme starts to apply.
