Hours: 55 hours over a two-week rota, working 5 out of 7 days covering evenings, with split shifts on Saturday and Sunday.

Brasenose College has an exciting opportunity to support our Buttery and food service teams as a part time Plate Room Assistant. The Plate Room Assistant is responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the plate room and the dishwasher.

General duties:

  • Washing of all crockery and cutlery through an electrical dishwasher.
  • Daily Cleaning of the dishwasher.
  • Correct disposal of waste food after each meal.
  • Strict observance of hygiene, health and safety regulations and good practices.
  • Daily checking, and topping up of salt, if required in the water softener.
  • Ensuring the plate room is kept clean tidy at all times.
  • Assisting the Kitchen Porter in the storage of cleaning chemicals.
  • Performing any other reasonable request made by the Steward or Deputies.

Applicants must have a flexible approach to work and able to work additional hours to cover sickness and holidays if required.
