Health Care Cadet Apprentice

As a Cadet, you will be mentored, and supported by the Powys Health & Care Academy to gain the skills required to achieve a Level 2 diploma in Clinical Healthcare Support. Cadets will receive a salary paid at the national/living minimum wage rate, dependent on age and will be required to undertake shift work during Monday – Friday. Cadets will be based on inpatient wards at a local Powys hospital for the duration of the 13-month fixed term contract. The contract start date is due to commence at the end of November 2024.

Our Cadets, will work under the supervision of registered Healthcare professionals to deliver the highest standards of care to our patients, delivered with dignity, respect and compassion. This care will include assisting patients with their personal needs, such as washing, toileting, dressing and eating.

Full training will be provided ensuring cadets have the skills and knowledge to carry out well-defined routine clinical duties, like monitoring a patient's health condition, including checking things like blood pressure, temperature, weight, comfort, and general wellbeing.
