Gleeson Recruitment Group are pleased to be working with one the UKs largest convenience retailers to recruit for a Graphic Design Manager on a permanent, full time basis.

Job title: Graphic Design Manager

Location: Walsall

Salary: 29, ,000

Contract: Full time, perm, hybrid (3 days)

Start date: August 2024

The role:

In this role you will lead on all elements of design for this national retailer and lead a small team to deliver traditional and digital design for the brand.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate and work seamlessly across the organisation and wider group, partnering with multiple functions and stakeholders.

Delegate tasks and check projects to ensure quality and brand consistency.

Correctly interpret the business strategy, translating this into team objectives and all projects delivered.

Manage and drive design projects from idea through to conception.

Develop creative projects that are innovative, market-leading, and appropriate for the business, customers, and colleagues.

Day-to-day tasks include but are not limited to:

Designing for website and digital channels: website graphics, social media and email assets, GIFs, and animations

Designing for print: point of sale artwork, direct mails, print adverts, brochures

Photography and videography: capturing products, inspiring food content, stores, and colleagues using technical equipment

Lead and implement brand guidelines, ensuring end-to-end brand consistency across multiple touchpoints and channels.

Manage suppliers and creative agencies to develop innovative and engaging design solutions based on agreed project briefs.

Provide expert support and advice across the business for all aspects of creative and design, including educating on best practice.

Act as a Brand Champion to ensure what is delivered is considered and aligned to the broader business strategy.

Have impeccable attention to detail and can prepare assets of high resolution into print-ready files.

Positively manage a team of in-house graphic designers and be accountable for all deadlines by managing workflow effectively.

Candidate Criteria:

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite

Ability to manage workload with multiple projects assigned simultaneously

Comfortable working to tight deadlines

Meticulous attention to detail and strong prioritisation skills

Extensive experience with videography and editing for social and digital platforms

Skilled in communicating and collaborating with senior stakeholders

A collaborative and problem-solving mindset

Line management experience is advantageous

Degree in Graphic Design or a similar qualification

Preferably a background in a marketing creative agency

Retail/FMCG knowledge or experience is advantageous
