Location – Home-based with travel required to visit foster families located across Scotland with focus on Dundee/Angus

Travel also requires attending staff meetings and team away days.

The Fostering Recruitment Social Worker will be responsible for leading on the full recruitment cycle/process of new foster carers in TACT Scotland which will include delivering Skills to Foster training. Liaising with various stakeholders regarding the foster carer provision/recruitment in TACT Scotland. Conducting initial visits and attending recruitment events/activities associated with the role. You would work closely with the Scotland fostering team including the Family Finder and the central Recruitment Service in ensuring a timely and carer focused recruitment journey for potential foster carers.

The main role requirements for this role include:

  • A degree in Social Work or equivalent
  • Up-to-date registration with Scottish Social Services Council
  • Post-qualifying experience which should include at least 2 years in relevant family placement work or post-qualifying experience in other childcare settings which must include statutory childcare work.
  • A proven track record in working with and on behalf of children and foster families, using a trauma-informed therapeutic approach.
  • Experience in group work and/or delivery of training.
  • Assessment of Foster Carers, using BAAF Competency Based Form F.
  • Experience in working with the public and engaging a wide range of community groups and organisations
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation including the Fostering National Minimum Standards and Fostering regulations.
  • Experience of working with/supporting looked after children and their foster carers.
  • Ability to prioritise, plan and self-organise efficiently.
  • Capable of using electronic records systems and IT effectively, including participating in virtual meetings and webinars.
