For this role we are looking for a Head of Geopolitical Risk, Europe & Americas to drive the bank's Geopolitical Risk capability across Europe & Americas.

In this role you will:

  • Proactively monitor relevant current affairs and political issues across Europe & Americas to help ensure leadership teams have timely information on emerging issues.
  • Expertly review political risks through a commercial lens to identify potential impacts on the bank.
  • Regularly draft accurate, succinct and persuasive written assessments of complex geopolitical topics for senior Europe & Americas stakeholders.
  • Proactively provide focused, forward-looking and business-relevant risk briefings to senior management across Europe & Americas.
  • Develop and maintain strong and productive relationships with a diverse set of internal and external customers and stakeholders.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

Essential:

  • Demonstrable experience in analysing current affairs and political issues across Europe & Americas.
  • Significant academic and/or professional analytical experience in relation to the politics of Europe & Americas.
  • Strong political risk assessment background to produce impactful assessments of highly complex geopolitical topics.
  • Ideally a qualification, certification or accreditation in a field related to Europe & Americas political risk or equivalent experience.
  • Proven professional experience in constructing clear, logical written arguments on complex geopolitical topics for senior audiences.
  • Experience writing assessments and briefing senior audiences on complex geopolitical topics.
  • Proven ability to approach critical geopolitical issues in a structured, highly logical, methodologically sound way.
  • Experience working in a corporate environment (financial institution, think tank, multinational, etc.)
  • Demonstrable experience in developing a risk assessment forward plan.
  • High level stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work confidently and effectively across multi-disciplinary teams and with senior executives.

Desirable:

  • Network of contacts across Europe & Americas
  • Experience/knowledge of wholesale banking
  • Experience of intelligence analytics/investigations

The base location for this role is London and a minimum of 2 days in the office is required.
