Geopolitical Risk Associate for Europe

London, Greater London, United Kingdom Sibylline Ltd Full time
Position Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable geopolitical risk associate to enhance our expanding Europe-Eurasia division at Sibylline Ltd. This team is dedicated to providing and sustaining analytical and investigative services concerning geopolitical and security events across the region.

Your role will involve assisting the team in identifying, evaluating, and advising on negative factors that may impact the safety, security, and operational stability of our clients. These factors encompass, but are not limited to: political volatility, criminal activities, terrorism, natural calamities, governance challenges, and an understanding of cyber threats. Although the primary focus is on Europe, you will encounter global tasks that necessitate a comprehensive grasp of international intelligence.

You will conduct research and analysis on a diverse array of information and produce regular, high-quality analytical reports within strict timelines, delivering valuable insights to our clients. Furthermore, you will interact directly with clients to offer immediate support and consultancy. Participation in podcasts and delivering presentations to expert audiences worldwide will also be part of your responsibilities. Your contributions will empower our clients to make informed decisions regarding security and operational issues.

This position is hybrid, requiring in-office attendance once or twice a week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, research, and draft regular analytical reports that provide actionable insights to clients.
  • Deliver on-demand threat assessments tailored to client specifications.
  • Continuously monitor regional security incidents to assess potential impacts and maintain awareness of strategic trends to update a global threat assessment scoring system.
  • Support due diligence initiatives by investigating individuals, groups of interest, or companies within the region.
  • Provide analytical support for other regional analysts as needed.
  • Participate in industry-standard events to enhance Sibylline's reputation.
  • Adhere to Sibylline's company standards, culture, and ethics within the team.
Qualifications
  • Advanced proficiency in a principal European language (preferably Spanish, Italian, or a European Slavic language).
  • In-depth understanding of political, security, criminal, and governance issues in Europe, along with a strong interest in security and intelligence.
  • Exceptional research skills with the ability to quickly digest, evaluate, and analyze large volumes of information.
  • Analytical acumen: the capacity to provide thorough, innovative insights into complex scenarios.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • High-level proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience handling large datasets and creating compelling visuals to represent analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Native regional insight; prior experience living or working in the region.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as International Relations, Politics, or Security.
  • Strong professional network.
  • Experience in intelligence, geopolitical, or security-related fields (public or private).
  • Demonstrated initiative: ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver solutions with minimal guidance.
  • Experience managing highly confidential information.
  • Confidence in working with large data sets.
  • Additional regional language skills.
Interview Process
  • Initial conversation with a member of our Talent Acquisition team.
  • Timed written assessment (scheduled at your convenience) to evaluate writing and analytical skills.
  • Panel interview with Sibylline's hiring manager and team members.

Sibylline is dedicated to recruiting and selecting candidates without regard for sexual orientation, gender, ethnicity, age, political beliefs, culture, or lifestyle. We are committed to fostering a business culture that reflects these values and promotes equal opportunity.
