Job DescriptionBased in the Sheltered Housing Warden Service you will work full time, 37 hours per week. If you have any queries regarding this vacancy, please contact Dorothy Moore, or email RequirementsYou will either hold a qualification meeting the Scottish Social Services Council registration requirements for Housing Support Workers, or have the ability to obtain such a qualification within a specified timescale.ResponsibilitiesYou will assist the tenants in sheltered housing schemes to enjoy a secure and comfortable environment, and live as independently as possible in their own home.The IndividualYou will have experience in a similar field. You must be dependable and reliable, and able to demonstrate sensitivity and understanding in dealing with elderly/vulnerable people. You should also have a flexible approach to work and possess good communication skills, both written and verbal. You must be able to work as part of a team, on your own initiative, and with minimal supervision. You will be available to work shifts, including some evenings and weekends. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
