Salary: £34,980 to £42,978 per annum

Full Time Fixed Term for 12 months

Closing Date: Thursday 25 July 2024

Interview Date: To be confirmed

Applications are invited for a one-year Teaching Fellowship in International Relations from 1st September 2024 to 30th August 2025. The department has a world-leading reputation in democratic governance and global political society, across areas such as political trust, democratic innovations, electoral behaviour, environmental justice, global health, migration, and development. It has a strong reputation in the application of cutting-edge research methods, ranging from political ethnography to experimental social science.

The role

We are seeking to further strengthen the thriving research and education culture of PAIR.

You will work with a strong body of staff in a Department that is beginning a growth phase and anticipates future permanent appointments. We welcome applications from across the field of International Relations, but we strongly encourage those within the areas of international relations theory; security; protest, activism and civic disobedience. Candidates will contribute to the teaching activities of PAIR in these areas of specialism at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

You will demonstrate experience in leading/convening teaching, marking and supervision and evidence of a growing national and international reputation in Politics and International Relations. You will contribute to the educational activities of PAIR through delivering innovative, research-led instruction, designing, and marking assignments and examination papers, and through supporting an engaged learning community. In particular, you will be able to contribute to the delivery of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

About you

You will have a PhD (or be nearing completion) in politics, international relations or a cognate discipline, have a growing reputation in the field, and possess the ability to plan, manage, organise and assess your own teaching contributions.

It is expected that the start date of the appointment will be 1st September 2024.

For further information, you are welcome to contact the Head of Department, Professor Pia Riggirozzi, by email:
