Learning Support Assistant - Secondary school - Wandsworth

LSA required to support pupils with SEND at a Secondary school in Wandsworth. Previous experience working with SEND is essential but this does not have to be school-based experience i.e. Youth Mentor, Youth Support Worker, Alternative Provisions/Pupil Referral Unit, Behaviour Mentor, SEMH.

Hours are generally 8.30am - 4pm/ pay is between per day depending on experience and role.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with SEND is essential and is not limited to college settings.
  • A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach towards students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage challenging situations and maintain composure in a classroom environment.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques.
  • An understanding of relevant legislation and policies related to SEND and safeguarding.
  • Desirable experience would be: Degree (Psychology) or Qualification related to SEND such as Autism.
