Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom University of Cambridge Full time

We are seeking to appoint a Project Coordinator to help support three new large, interlinked programmes within the Department of Psychiatry. The Project Coordinator will be responsible to the Programme Manager and also support three Professors (Chief Investigators) leading on the studies. The programmes are:

The Mental Health Mission for Psychosis (CI Professor Graham Murray): a multi-disciplinary, multi-centre, UK wide collaboration involving Universities, NHS Trust and healthcare companies. The focus is to understand more about patients with early psychosis to help enable better prevention and treatment. The project is funded by the Office of Life Science and National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR); PUMA (Early Psychosis multi-arm, multi-stage (MAMS) platform trial) (CI Professor Peter Jones): this project is in its development phase of a protocol for a new approach to clinical trials in this area; and ImmunoMIND (CI Professor Ed Bullmore): a national and international hub of scientists and people with lived experience (PWLE), funded by UKRI as part of the new Mental Health Platform, working openly and transparently together to utilise big data and advanced computational analysis to find causal pathways that connect immune and metabolic changes in the body to severe mental illness, and to translate new knowledge to actionable and accessible interventions for people with physical and mental health problems.

The Study Coordinator will provide excellent administrative support to the Programme Manager across a range of functions. They will be responsible for making arrangements on behalf of both internal and external collaborating teams. This will require working efficiently, effectively, accurately, and in a timely and organised fashion.

They will assist with financial aspects of grant management, including liaising closely with finance and HR regarding grant costings and expenditure, and preparing expense and finance claims. The final decision on finance costings will rest with the Programme Manager and the Chief Investigators.

The post holder will assist with the preparation of regular reports (e.g. quarterly and annual reports) and provide other administrative support by taking, for example, minutes at key meetings and supporting individual investigators, as required. They will support the Programme Manager with delivering project objectives within agreed time and financial constraints.

They will support the Programme Manager with managing the overall coordination of the projects by having regular direct and indirect communication and liaison with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. This will require high levels of tact, diplomacy, confidentiality, accuracy, and organisational skills.
