Overview of the Role

The Specialist Instructor (Lifeguard) is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children at the camp, particularly during swimming sessions.

While on lifeguard duty at the poolside, you will also participate in various sports, arts and crafts, and games sessions for kids aged 4 to 14. Your role is to encourage engagement, care, and growth among the children.

Moreover, staff at Ultimate Activity Camps play a vital role in providing top-notch physical, emotional, and social support. As an Activity Instructor, you will lead a group of children, prioritizing their welfare and delivering exceptional care.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supervise swimming sessions for children of all ages at the camp.
  • Plan and execute activities for kids aged 4-14, focusing on participation, development, and fun.
  • Act as a group leader, welcoming new children and communicating with parents when needed.
  • Engage with children outside of scheduled activities.
  • Prioritize the well-being of all children under your supervision.
  • Demonstrate high energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism as a role model.
  • Ensure compliance with camp policies and procedures, especially health, safety, and safeguarding measures.
  • Uphold the Ultimate Activity Camp mission of 'Inspiring Children Every Day' and maintain the company's standards throughout your tenure.
  • Execute miscellaneous tasks like cleaning and equipment upkeep.

Basic Qualifications

  • Certified lifeguard (NARS or NPLQ) with adequate depth proficiency for the camp's facilities. Depth tests can be arranged if necessary.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, and dedicated to child development through play and activity.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to lead and handle responsibilities.
  • Flexible team player capable of adapting to changing camp dynamics and challenges.
  • Seeking a challenging yet fulfilling job during holidays to advance in childcare and coaching.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background or certification in relevant fields (e.g., childcare, education, sports, art) with experience working with children.
