We're looking for a Commercial Manager to join the Energy Infrastructure Solutions business within E.ON UK. As Commercial Manager you will be supporting our Lighting and Grid Connections business area in providing commercial contract support at both pre and post contract stages, whilst being responsible for optimising the commercial value of our projects. Providing support to the business you will ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions, mitigating risk, building and maintaining important relationships with key stakeholders whilst shaping our contracting strategy to deliver major infrastructure projects. A key part of the role will also be supporting the ICP and IDNO teams, setting up commercial processes and overseeing the commercial management of both the ICP and IDNO teams.


Here's what else you'll be doing

  • Drafting, negotiating, vetting and concluding contracts associated with street lighting, grid connections and electric vehicle charging solutions projects whilst undertaking commercial risk reviews.
  • Ensuring contractual terms and conditions for suppliers and subcontractors are administered.
  • Provide contractual interpretation, obligation awareness, and support the business to draft, negotiate, conclude and manage commercial contracts and arrangements.
  • Support the operations project delivery and bid teams to meet customer requirements, manage delivery risks and maximise commercial outcomes.
  • Supporting the transition from the commercial (pre-contract) to the contract (delivery) phase is a key responsibility, helping our internal delivery teams understand the terms of the contract.
  • Support the delivery teams in post contract activity on complex and challenging projects including PFI's.
  • Monitor, audit and ensure compliance with E.ON UK governance requirements and processes.
  • Support and influence meetings with a range of different stakeholders including internal procurement, delivery, regulation, and legal teams, as well as external customers including developers and local authorities, Contractors and distribution network owners.
What we need from you
  • Relevant HNC/degree with relevant professional qualifications or working towards, RICS, ICE, CIPS or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in an IDNO and ICP business as a commercial manager
  • A good understanding of business, electrical engineering and operations management.
  • Sound knowledge of NEC forms of contract. Experience of tendering and procurement using, as a minimum, NEC forms of contract.
  • Experience to influence others to perform while working safely and effectively aligned around common goals.
