Credit Risk Strategy Analyst at Barclays

Join us at Barclays as a Credit Risk Strategy Analyst where you will be working as part of the 1LOD Risk team, within UK Corporate team, managing the risk strategy across the full credit lifecycle, using analytics and commercial acumen to optimise whilst ensuring the customer and regulatory requirements are fully adhered to. You will be developing and supporting on the Financial Assistance Strategy to ensure it remains commercially optimised and adheres to all regulatory and risk/policy requirements.

This role is based in London. Barclays is required by law to confirm that you have the Legal Right to Work in any role that you apply for. Purpose of the Role

To negotiate and execute structured lending opportunities working across our corporate and sponsor client base to ensure a great customer outcome.

Accountabilities
  • Negotiation and documentation of deal terms in partnership with legal counsel and bank policy.
  • Management of the flow of transactions through to completion, including the timely escalation of any issues and ensuring that commercial risks are adequately covered through the various protections in the finance documents.
  • Co-ordination of relevant deal team discussions to include the client, Relationship team and other key stakeholders such as Professional Advisors, Legal Counsel, Tax etc.
  • Development and implementation of risk management strategies, including the identification of potential credit risks, assessment of impact scenarios, and recommendations of mitigation measures to reduce the bank's overall exposure.
  • Management of key stakeholder relationships within target companies to understand their needs and recommend appropriate lending solutions.
  • Monitoring and analysis of industry trends and legal developments and sharing knowledge, best practices and suggestion with the team.
  • Monitoring of key metrics such as new client acquisition, loan volume, revenue generation, and market share to assess the performance of the commercial banking segment.

    • Make evaluative judgements based on the analysis of factual information, paying attention to detail.
    • Resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and will be guided by precedents.
    • Guide and persuade team members and communicate complex/sensitive information.
    • Act as contact point for stakeholders outside of the immediate function, while building a network of contacts outside team and external to the organisation.
