Applications are invited for a temporary, full-time Research Project Support Officer in the School of History, Law and Social Sciences.
Duties will include supporting Professor Stefan Machura in a research project on the cooperation of professional and lay judges in German criminal courts funded by the Fritz Thyssen Foundation. The Research Project Support Officer will analyse qualitative and quantitative data, correspond with stakeholders, organise project-related events and write up results.
Candidates will have a degree in criminology, sociology, law, psychology, or any other subject with training in socio-legal studies and/or methods of social research. German language skills are essential as well as experience in empirical research including statistical analysis, or at least, potential to require the necessary skills in descriptive, test and regression analysis. The successful candidate will be expected to commence on 1 September 2024. The project runs for 18 months and finishes on 28 February 2026.
This role will be located on campus at Bangor. Through our Dynamic Working framework, there will also be the option to spend some time working remotely (although remaining in the UK) to support work life balance, which will be discussed further with candidates at interview.
