Research Project Support Officer in Marine Environmental History

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Research Project Support Officer to join our team at Bangor University's School of Ocean Sciences. The successful candidate will assist in the planning and execution of cross-disciplinary research on marine fish and their fisheries, with a focus on historical sources and data collection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gathering and managing data, including historical records and modern scientific data
- Assisting in delivering research outcomes, including publications and dissemination of research outputs
- Supporting the administration of the research project, including data management, stakeholder engagement, and social media engagement
Requirements:
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in history, environmental history, archaeology, geography, or a related field
- Interest in historical ecology and marine historical ecology
- Experience in working with data, including extraction, standardization, and classification
Working Environment:
The successful candidate will be based in the School of Ocean Sciences on the Menai Bridge campus and will work closely with colleagues in the School of History, Law and Social Sciences on the Bangor main campus.
