Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Support classroom management and promote positive behavior.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
  • A relevant qualification in education or child development is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
