Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom Pathmakers CiO Full time

Pathmakers CIO has received funding from Heritage Fund and Norfolk County Council to run a two-year programme of activities focused on getting people out walking in the environment. The Project started in July 2023 and successfully delivered the October 2023 walking festival. A significant part of the planning for the 2024 festival has already been put in place and the programme planning should be completed by June 2024.

Planning and delivering an annual month- long Walk Norfolk walking festival in October 2024 and initial planning for October 2025 with the support of the administrative officer doing daily tasks, monitoring and recording. We want the activities to engage those less likely to go out walking regularly.

  • Following the successful delivery of the Walk Norfolk 2022 and 2023 festivals systems for planning the walking festival are already in place.
  • It will include a programme of daily walking activities across Norfolk working with both established and new partners.
  • a self-guided walk of the day available on the website for everyday of the festival.
  • A regular monthly Norfolk walking programme comprising at least one walk a month – this is already mostly in place for 2024
  • A Wellbeing Programme with particular interest groups e.g. Vision Norfolk. Following a co-production consultation initial, plans for the Vision Norfolk element are already in place. The Wellbeing programme must be focused on access to the countryside and must contain an element of co-production with the groups engaged. It is expected that the Wellbeing Programme will involve a day per week of engagement with a variety of different activities mainly in 2025. A methodology for monitoring achievement over the programme is being developed via an external evaluator.
  • Supporting the marketing/engagement officer with ongoing promotion of all activities including maintaining Pathmaker's Walk Norfolk Webpages and Facebook presence. Branding, marketing material, booking systems, and some partners are already in place
  • Production of interim and final reports in line with both Pathmaker's timetables and Heritage Fund grant requirements.

Pathmakers is looking to contract an individual, or partnership, to undertake the delivery of the WalkNorfolk 2024 festival and the design and running of the Wellbeing Programme. They should be based in Norfolk in order to develop and maintain the necessary local contacts in the community.
