Key responsibilities

You will support the pricing process across all categories in B&Q, reporting into the Strategic Pricing Manager.

The Pricing Analyst position promises dynamic challenges and opportunities to shape pricing strategies with the support of the Strategic Pricing Manager, and conduct thorough competition benchmarking.

Applying for the role of Pricing Analyst at B&Q offers an exciting opportunity to support strategic pricing decisions across all categories, contributing directly to the company's commercial success.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Cocreation of the RRPs in line with category ambition
  • Competition Benchmarking (Price Index):
    • Weekly B&Q pricing report creation
    • Monthly Kingfisher report creation
  • Owner of primary competitors, KVIs & Top SKU categories i.e. Corporate T1000 list
  • Analytical support to the Pricing Manager
  • Deals with ad-hoc pricing queries from the business and categories
  • Maintains pricing database and produces analysis to support compliance monitoring
  • Supports the Category teams deliver planned price activities
  • Works with Pricing Manager & Pricing input team to implement revised approaches and tools for use by the team
  • Works in line with Pricing rules and applies a level of governance and advice, to ensure pricing is not counter intuitive to target markets
  • Works to continually improve our processes and policies with a high level of accuracy of pricing outputs, managing own priorities.
  • Pricing tool expert Minderest'. Management of tool, first line support for all stakeholders and point of contact for 3rd party vendor.
  • Provides Ad hoc training and workshops for new members of the business
  • Pricing support within the wider business i.e. B&Q Local' pricing reports.

Required skills & experience

To deliver this role you will have experience in:

  • Strong attention to detail/accuracy and the ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Execution of national pricing in a retail or related environment
  • Natural networker and collaborator
  • Builds strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, with excellent interpersonal, motivational and organisational skills.
  • Highly numerate, logical and have exceptional attention to detail.

Technically strong in at least one of the following or demonstrable aptitude for:

  • Value-based pricing strategy
  • Drivers of price perception
  • Financial reporting and clear understanding of make-up of net margin
