As the Senior Building Surveyor - Damp, Mould and disrepair, you ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our customers experiences are nothing short of excellent. We take pride in delivering an outstanding service to our customers, ensuring their homes are safe, comfortable and well-maintained. We deliver over 35,000 annual repairs, Void refurbishments and planned upgrades, Celtic Horizons also delivers estate services for United Welsh, including gas servicing, grounds maintenance, cleaning and facility management. Celtic Horizons was the first wholly owned subsidiary of its kind formed by United Welsh who have entered into a partnership with Mears Group. Celtic Horizons care for over 6500 properties spanning over 11 local authority areas in South Wales.

About the Role:

The Senior Building surveyor will be a vital role within our repairs team and the responsibilities will be wide ranging with a focus on damp, mould, condensation and disrepair. The role will strike the balance between technical expertise and management to optimise the use of data, systems, and technology to lead. You will be responsible for your own portfolio of projects, managing day to day scoping of works, offering technical support to deliver a resolution for our contract holders. With project ownership from start to finish, you will survey customers' homes and communal spaces following notification of Damp, Mould or Disrepair, produce detailed works schedules, Issue works through specialist contractors, manage post inspection of complete work and arrange payments of invoice, manging issues and queries that may arise from our customers and stakeholders.

Working to tight timeline's and within budget, this role is fast paced, challenging, rewarding and delivers job and customer satisfaction. You will build close working relationships with our Client United Welsh to help develop service excellence and a market leader in damp, mould and disrepair resolutions for our contract holders.

Role Criteria:

With a proven track record of management experience, preferably within a similar sector, you ll excel in this position. You will have a strong commercial acumen, coupled with a budgetary understanding. At your core, you will possess a customer-focused mindset. Your management style will create an environment that motivates and develops your colleagues and your ability to present data will allow you to make effective business decisions.

  • Customer focused: A key focus will be to enhance the customer and colleague experience by creating a culture of innovation and improvement. This will be achieved by utilising data, systems and technology to drive consistent improvements. Customer feedback will also be essential in shaping the delivery of our repairs service.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: You will be detail orientated and be adept at analysing data to drive effective decision-making that delivers an effective and efficient service. Your technical expertise will ensure a safe working environment for our colleagues and customers while complying with all technical and health & safety requirements.
  • You will have a track record of building diagnostic, and an understanding of root cause and solution for Damp, Mould and Disrepair- Ideally backed by a formal building qualification such as RICs, BSC, HNC, HND
