Description
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Glazing Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team. As a Glazing Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of glazing projects, while also ensuring that costs are accurately estimated and controlled. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of glazing systems and materials.
Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates for glazing projects, including materials, labour, and equipment
- Conduct site measurements and assessments to ensure accurate quantity take-offs
- Analyze project drawings and specifications to identify potential risks and opportunities
- Collaborate with project managers and architects to develop accurate and competitive bids
- Prepare and submit progress payment applications to clients and manage variations
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and report on any discrepancies
- Prepare detailed cost reports, including breakdowns of labour, materials, and equipment
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and quality of workmanship
- Negotiate and settle final accounts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to glazing and quantity surveying
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in glazing quantity surveying or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of different glazing systems and materials
- Excellent understanding of construction contracts and tendering process
- Proficient in industry software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and cost-estimating software
- Exceptional numerical and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required
