To provide technical support to front-line Sales and Sales Opportunities including Major Pursuits. This position is in the Technical Advisory Team of IAEN UK and reports to Studies Tendering and Technical Advisory Manager.

Your responsibilities
  • Delivering your technical knowledge and ABB capabilities to key customers including end users and EPCs. This will include accompanying front-end Sales personnel.
  • Maintaining key customer relationships (End Users and EPCs).
  • Generating and reviewing Electrical Scopes of Supply in compliance with Clients' RFQs.
  • Producing and reviewing engineering hours estimates.
  • Electrical 3rd Party Supplier and Equipment Assessment including working with Supply. Chain Management to produce supplier specifications and review supplier responses.
  • Thought leadership in the delivery and execution methodologies of Electrical opportunities and project delivery.

    Your background
    • Should be qualified to Honors or master's level in an appropriate engineering discipline or have demonstrated and proven experience in this field of technology.
    • MIET and CEng are desirable.
    • Working to Expert Technical Knowledge in many of the following areas with a self-driven desire to resolve knowledge gaps and build competence in emerging technologies.
    • HV / MV / LV Switchgear, UPS, and power / control cabling design and installation.
    • Design and engineering of e-houses including interfaces to with Structural, HVAC, Fire and Gas detection, Fire Suppression and Cabling requirements.
    • Upgrade or replacement of ABB excitation systems.
    • Requirements for the interfaces to HVAC, Telecoms and Control Systems.
    • Maintenance and Lifecycle knowledge.
    • Safety leadership, integrity leadership and ethics. Outgoing, personable, and reliable.
    • A good communicator, in both oral and written English.
    • Capable of presenting to internal and external management / experts.
    • Capable of building good working relationships within internal and external teams and with individuals.
    • Able to work in a team or work through allotted tasks unsupervised.
    • Will set and monitor targets for others through to successful delivery.
    • Meticulous and thorough but capable of meeting agreed proposal schedule deadlines.
    • Reflects on own knowledge gaps and proactively plans to address.
