In recent years, Queen's has developed an increasingly strong reputation, based on the consistent success of both schools. Nonetheless, the Council is not complacent and is mindful of strong competition, particularly in Central London, and of other market, political and social factors; Queen's is not standing still. The Council remains ambitious and is looking to recruit a Head of QCPS who will not only build on and develop the strengths of the school and of Queen's as a whole, but will also bring a fresh perspective and work with them to realise future ambitions.

The Head of QCPS is responsible to the Principal for the conduct of QCPS's affairs. The Council attaches the greatest importance to the education, development and welfare of all Queen's pupils, and it will be the Head's responsibility to ensure that the highest possible standards are achieved at QCPS. The Head's responsibilities also include the appointment of all QCPS teaching staff, the direction of the teaching, the content and organisation of the curriculum, and the management, discipline and welfare of QCPS as a whole.

The Head will work under the oversight of and with the support of the Principal, and also closely with the Bursar, who also reports to the Principal regarding the financial management and day-to-day operation of both schools.

The success of both component schools of Queen's College, London in recent years has arisen largely from their balanced focus on both academic achievement and pastoral development of young people. Whilst the pursuit of academic excellence is important at Queen's, so too is encouraging the enjoyment of learning; the Council is committed to maintaining this balance, and views the new Head as a key person in achieving it at QCPS.
