Responsibilities:
As a Purchase Ledger, you will be responsible for the following:
- Receiving purchase invoices via email or post, and delivery notes via internal post
- Coding invoices with project numbers and cost codes
- Inputting purchase, sales, subcontractor's invoices, and credit notes into Sage 50 Accounts
- Ensuring accurate input of invoices in line with supplier payment terms and paid correctly within agreed terms
- Checking purchase invoices against purchase orders and/or distributing invoices for authorisation
- Filing authorised invoices and documentation using File Stream document management system
- Preparing monthly creditors payment run
- Processing and allocating supplier payments into Sage 50 Accounts
- Preparing and running monthly project and costs reports
- Setting up and maintaining customer and supplier accounts
Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous purchase ledger experience, ideally with exposure to managing multiple ledgers
- Previous experience of working within the construction sector
- Strong computer skills, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills
- High attention to detail
- Ideally have previous experience with Sage 50
