Performance and Quality Assurance Programme Manager

Birmingham, Birmingham, United Kingdom Birmingham Children's Trust Full time

Protecting children from abuse, neglect and exploitation requires strong, joined up leadership and effective multi-agency working. The Birmingham Safeguarding Children Partnership (BSCP) has statutory responsibility for overseeing the multi-agency safeguarding arrangements in Birmingham. We are looking for the right person to join the partnership's Business Support Team, to manage the team focused on delivering our Performance, Quality Assurance and Scrutiny Programme.

The Performance and Quality Assurance Programme Manager plays a pivotal role in helping to co-ordinate the work of the Quality, Impact and Outcomes Sub-Group, working in close collaboration with the Co-Chairs of the QIO Sub-Group, Independent Scrutineer, Partnership Business Manager, and leaders from across a wide range of statutory and voluntary organisations involved in safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people in Birmingham.

The BSCP have published a Business Improvement Plan 2023/25, setting out our strategic safeguarding priorities, which inform the work of the Quality Impact and Outcomes Sub-Group. You will lead and work with colleagues to design and develop the most appropriate methodology to identify systemic improvement and enhance front-line safeguarding partnership practice to achieve better outcomes for children and families.

The role requires a good understanding of quality assurance, surveys, performance scorecards, and questionnaires. Additionally, analytical and report writing skills are essential to identify key findings, emerging themes, any areas for improvement, and to subsequently produce concise reports setting out the conclusions and recommendations.

You will need the ability to communicate and engage effectively with colleagues to build and maintain positive working relationships. You will also have the opportunity to present your findings to both strategic leaders and frontline safeguarding practitioners, sharing and disseminating important learning across the whole of children's workforce. You will need a sound understanding of child protection and safeguarding and to be able to demonstrate the ability to organise and deliver project-based work.

This is a hybrid working role, meaning some of your time will be spent working in the office and some working from home. The Business Support Team is hosted by the Birmingham Children's Trust, whose offices are in Aston, just outside the city centre traffic congestion zone.

If this role sounds like the one for you, and you're committed to improving the lives of children in Birmingham, we'd love to hear from you.

Interviews will be held at One Avenue Road, Aston, Birmingham, B6 4DU dates to be confirmed.

For informal enquiries please contact Simon Cross, Partnership Business Manager Tel:
