Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist
The Trust is seeking an experienced consultant psychiatrist to join an established Community Mental Health Team in Wiltshire. The successful candidate will provide services for adults of all ages, with a focus on Older Adults, within a supportive team environment.
The post holder will work within the Sarum Community Mental Health Team, the Memory Service, and the Care Home Liaison team, providing medical input to a population of older adults in the South Wiltshire area.
Main Duties:
- Work with a multidisciplinary team to assess and treat patients in a community setting
- Provide leadership and collaborative support within the team
- Manage own time, workload, and prioritize clinical work effectively
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills with patients, carers, and staff
- Assess and treat psychiatric problems in Older Adults, including crisis situations
- Conduct teaching and training activities for medical students and colleagues
- Participate in research and audit projects
- Develop special interests and involvement in management
Requirements:
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice
- CCT in Older Adult Psychiatry (desirable)
- Experience in community assessment and treatment
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Knowledge of management skills for functioning as a Consultant
- Experience in teaching and research activities
- Evidence of management/leadership skills training
