What does the role look like?

We're recruiting a hugely exciting senior leadership role within our Engineering team. You will be a key member of Actuation Systems Chief Engineer's Office (CEO) leading Mechanical Design function reporting to Actuation's Engineering Senior Director.

The CEO comprises 3 technical leads: Mechanical Design, Electronics Design and Systems Architecture Engineering. The role has no direct reports but is responsible for Mechanical Design capability development and oversight. Key technical talent is to be engaged across all Actuation Mechanical Design Activities. You will establish and govern Mechanical Design standards and technology and capability roadmaps.

What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?

  • Leading Mechanical Design function and Community of Practice across Actuation Engineering organization
  • Able to derive strategic roadmaps by connecting business goals, R&T programs, advanced methods and people skills in identifying and securing tangible opportunities to secure sustainable growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Defining and implementing Mechanical Design Technology & Capability roadmaps
  • Governance of Mechanical Design content with R&T projects, Bids & Proposals, New Product Introduction, Aftermarket support
  • Establishing and governing Mechanical Design Standards
  • Be engaged and accountable for Mechanical Design
  • Able to deliver top level trade studies/ white papers that socialize potential disruptive opportunities with leadership.
  • Able to identify disruptive design space and recognized author of high impact Intellectual Disclosures.
  • Key partner in developing and mentoring of key talent
  • Capable of being parachuted into critical technical issues across the Actuation business.
