As we approach an exciting period of growth across our Philanthropy income streams, we're looking for a Deputy Head of Philanthropy (Major Gifts).

About this role

As Deputy Head of Philanthropy (Major Gifts), you'll:

  • support the Major Gifts team to deliver on ambitious targets, while also maintaining a small personal pipeline of five figure prospects,
  • develop and implement several new strategies, including a senior volunteer strategy and an exciting Champions scheme,
  • develop regional strategies, growing major gifts income to fund impactful new projects across the UK including our exciting capital campaign
  • work closely with stakeholders across the charity to develop new cases for support and bespoke funding opportunities,
  • collaborate with other Deputy Heads across Philanthropy, building a solid peer group who approach challenges as a team.

    About you

    To be successful in this role, you'll need experience of leading and developing a Major Gifts function, preferably with experience of scaling up the area and supporting through a period of growth. Ideally, we're looking for a candidate with experience of regional fundraising, as we look to cultivate local capital campaigns with high-net-worth individuals. Excellent communication skills are essential, with the ability to influence and build relationships with high-net-worth individuals. Some experience of strategy development and implementation is also crucial for this role. Above all, a commitment to the aims and objects of Dogs Trust is essential.
