Our client is a global law firm renowned for their expertise in dispute resolution, especially in defending insurance and liability claims.
The Role
Our client is seeking an Associate to join their Marine team. This role involves handling and assisting with marine insurance claims, including hull, war, marine liability, cargo, mortgagee's interest insurance, marine cyber, and yachts, as well as wet and dry shipping. The position also requires some policy drafting.
Our client is particularly interested in candidates with experience in arbitration (especially under LMAA terms) and litigation.
While language skills are beneficial, they are not essential. Some overseas travel may be necessary.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading marine team recognised in the Legal 500 UK 2023 edition.
Key requirements:
- 2-4 years' UK Qualified Solicitor or CILEX qualified with the relevant experience.
- Candidates from overseas are welcome if they possess the necessary skills, experience, and a valid work permit.
- Experience of marine insurance gained at a recognised shipping law firm.
- Familiarity with arbitration and court procedures.
- To have had previous client contact and attendance at business development events.
