About the Role

Kennedys Law is seeking a highly skilled Associate to join our Marine team, specializing in marine insurance claims and wet and dry shipping. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for handling and assisting in handling marine insurance claims, primarily hull, war, marine liability, cargo, mortgagee's interest insurance, marine cyber, and yachts.

We are particularly interested in speaking to candidates with arbitration (particularly LMAA terms) and litigation experience. Your expertise will be invaluable in drafting policies and handling disputes across all classes of marine insurance.

As a Marine Claims Associate, you will work closely with our team to provide assistance to domestic and international clients on a comprehensive range of marine insurance, wet and dry shipping, and trade issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle and assist in handling marine insurance claims
  • Draft policies and handle disputes across all classes of marine insurance
  • Work closely with the Marine team to provide assistance to domestic and international clients
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
Requirements
  • 2-4 years' experience as a UK Qualified Solicitor or CILEX qualified with relevant experience
  • Experience of marine insurance gained at a recognized shipping law firm
  • Familiarity with arbitration and court procedures
  • Previous client contact and attendance at business development events
