You will be based offshore on the Service Operations Vessel working a 3 week on 3 week off rota, providing clear leadership to the HV Site Engineers (SAP's) in the commissioning team and the interface to the contractor and vessel management, acting as the main point of contact for all matters relating to the day to day on site commissioning of WTG's. Ensure that the commissioning strategy is fully delivered by the contractor and that all necessary processes and resources are appropriately made available to deliver the offshore wind farm project into commercial operation whilst ensuring that safety is the number one priority.
The role requires the skill to coordinate people and contractors, interfaces, test & conformance standards and work planning to efficiently resolve the complex problems that can occur in a time critical operation. Experience of windfarms, offshore logistics and test compliance would be advantageous.
Key responsibilities:
- Day to day management of a multidisciplinary team of technical staff (Offshore SAP/AP's) based on the commissioning SOV during WTG Commissioning and Energisation activities
- Liaise with WTG Contractor to coordinate commissioning resources and organising the commissioning resources to support the contractors commissioning programme
- Review RAMS, co-ordinate work activity with System Control & WTG Contractor
- Ensure WTG HV commissioning documentation is complete prior to energisation and commissioning relevant documentation such as Check Lists are complete, issued to the key stakeholders and uploaded into the Document Management System
- Ensuring the wind farm is commissioned to programme and optimised for maximising production
- Update resource plans and report progress
- Liaise with vessel and commissioning team for domestic matters
- Management and mitigation of health, safety and environmental risks associated with the commissioning package, incident investigation and HSSE reporting.
- Provide local front-line support to the commissioning team, mitigating issues that may arise and negating impact to programme
- Ensuring contract documentation requirements such as Daily Progress Reports are complete and correct
- Participate and supervise on site commissioning meetings, daily planning meetings, updates, and reporting in liaison with the contractor and vessel management
- Daily reporting to Windfarm Commissioning Manager
- Adding value to the line function, sharing best practice and contributing to the wider team of Commissioning Managers
Your profile:
- Qualifications to a HNC/degree level in an engineering discipline or equivalent
- Demonstratable experience in leading and management of teams and interface to contractors is required with the ability to work, supervise teams and monitor the decision making process in a time-sensitive setting and to tight deadlines
- Good knowledge of current Health, Safety and Environmental regulations
- Awareness of HV Systems & Safety Rules
- Enhanced communication skills at all levels
- Experience of marine safety and logistics desirable
- Ability to complete GWO and HUET training
