Investment Banking Associate - Energy (Oil & Gas) M&A, London


Our client is a top tier Bulge Bracket Investment Bank in London, seeking to make multiple hires at the Associate level to join a leading Energy team in London.


The role offers a unique environment that blends collegial teamwork with an entrepreneurial spirit, encouraging creativity and innovation. Associates gain substantial responsibility early on and play a crucial role in the team's business growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse historical and projected financial data and present findings
  • Conduct and manage business due diligence processes
  • Develop financial models and valuation assessments
  • Prepare and deliver confidential information memoranda, management presentations, and marketing pitches
  • Lead the execution of marketing engagements and client interactions
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, advisors, and other stakeholders
  • Supervise junior staff in financial analyses and project work


Qualifications

  • Strong academic background with at least a 2:1 or equivalent degree
  • 3-5 years of M&A experience, with Energy (oil & gas) sector experience being advantageous
  • Proficiency in financial valuation methodologies and financial modelling
  • Excellent analytical, qualitative, and quantitative research skills
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and key business drivers
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Advanced Excel skills and a resourceful, independent mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
