Role summary

The Senior People Advisor will work closely with the Head of People to deliver a proactive and commercial advisory service to internal stakeholders. You will be hands-on and in a unique position to coach and develop line managers at all levels on employee relations advice and queries and people operations. This is an opportunity to make a real difference to the people agenda, our ACED culture and to add value, delivering high quality advice on a range of employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with employment law and company policy. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of people polices and procedure and to support the delivery of people projects both tactical and strategic in nature.


Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the business (key stakeholders), manage and resolve routine and complex ER cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, redundancies and restructures, maternity/paternity etc.
  • Ensure compliance with employment law and best practices to achieve optimal outcomes in all ER matters.
  • Provide expert guidance, advice and support to the business on ER issues, influencing key decision makers.


Support projects in the People team, including areas such as:

  • Onboarding and induction.
  • Health & wellbeing.
  • Restructuring, resourcing and recruitment, Company culture, employee engagement (pulse surveys and implementation of actions).
  • Performance management and managing underperformance.
  • Offboarding, exit interviews, analysis of attrition trends for action planning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments (e.g. Recruitment/Operations, Marketing etc) in support of the employee experience and to consistently enhance the employee value proposition, promoting the Company as a great place to work.
  • Proactively gather, evaluate and analyse data (including trends) to support the implementation of ER initiatives, including areas such as absence management, OH services and employee benefits.
  • Advise and guide on all employee relations matters with regards to Sponsored workers, immigration routes and sponsored licenses, (in line with Home Office guidance) to ensure compliance.
  • Support the constant review of HRIS systems to ensure close alignment with the needs of the business and modernize or streamline processes.
  • Support the Head of People and/or People Partner on regular cadence calls with the Heads of Practice/Senior Line Managers, to support, advise and influence them to own and manage their people KPIs, highlighting risks, where further intervention is required and agreed actions to manage any people related issues and initiatives to support company goals.
  • Ensure that all internal and external HR reporting requirements and audits, are satisfied through the provision of management information and tactical reports (such as ISO270001, client bids) and people related actions are implemented and regularly reviewed where appropriate.
  • Keep abreast of modern HR procedures, legal matters and best practice and work collaboratively with the people team to introduce and embed new ideas and initiatives to the Company, as appropriate to support the employee experience.
  • Support the identification of ER training needs across the business and coach and develop line managers/employees in areas such as: conduct, performance, maternity leave, dignity at work and legislative matters.
  • Review and update HR processes to improve workflows, including those relating to HR administration to ensure optimal operational effectiveness.
  • Line manage the People Coordinators and support their development.


Minimum Requirements

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified.
  • Proven track record in HR managing complex ER cases independently and with HR colleagues.
  • Coaching and mentoring experience.
  • Ability to work as part of a team but also to work autonomously.
  • Analytical, problem-solving and reporting skills.
  • Negotiation skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders and senior managers through excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Up to date knowledge and application of employment legislation (including right to work/sponsored workers) with the ability to provide advice and guidance which is appropriate and fully consistent with legal requirements, Company policy and best practice.
  • Experience of developing HR policies and procedures and training to support Managers and Employees learning and development.
  • Highly driven and passionate about HR and best practices.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and technology.
